sure its not just a face but im an overachiever. Took me almost a month with maybe 30+ hours. Not even kidding. this specific drawing is 27"x17". the paper is just a large white drawing paper with assorted charcoals, vine charcoal, and compressed charcoal. Im overall happy with how it turned out, its just i started to lose my motivation and attention to detail because when transporting it, the loose charcoal would smear everywhere which really, really, really irritated me. Anyways its finally done. The reference photo is a photo my friend took of a guy I know playing the bongos. Pretty cool huh? 100% original. (note that if you look on the first bongo pad in the very bottom you can see my signature, thats how big this is)

Actually those are conga (pronounced with a long 'O' sound), bongos are much smaller. My percussionist side is poking through my brass player and I simply wanted to inform you. Regardless this is an AMAZING job. I cam across it on this site looking for reference photos for practicing using charcoal pencils. Maybe some day I will attain this skill level in anything related to the drawing arts. Is it possible to link to the reference photo you used? Again excellent work, if I ever find the money or rationalization I will for sure buy this print and put it above my (future) drum kit. Until then this stays bookmarked.
